Two Months Old . . . Already

I just can't believe that Lainie is already two months old. Where has the time gone? Yet, our little angel has brought so much joy into our house that it is hard to remember what life was like without her. She is doing all sort of fun things now, like smiling, jabbering, more smiling, and just all kinds of other cute expressions. She did actually inherit one thing from her mother - the raised eyebrow - like Scarlett on "Gone with the Wind." It is just so cute! The boys still just simply adore their "baby sister," as they like to call her.

Lainie had her two month check-up and weighed in at 9 pounds 9 ounces, quite an improvement from her 6 pound 12 ounce birth weight, but she is still only in the 15th percentile. She's in the 50th percentile for height at 22-1/2 inches long. With a itty bitty head in the 10th percentile. Well, there are the stats(for journaling).

So here is our growing little girl. . .

Smiles!!!

In her swing.

So cute!

Will she be a basketball or piano player with those hands?

Little Lainie feet.

Visit from Grandma

Grandma Brown came for Lainie's Blessing and then she got to stay with us awhile and have fun! We sure enjoyed having Grandma stay and the boys just loved all the attention as did Lainie.

We sure had fun with Grandma and getting to go out and do stuff. Thanks for coming to visit us!!!

A Tribute to my Dad

This is my Dad!
This picture captures my Dad and his wonderful smile perfectly. It has been two months today since he passed away! It seems like it has been years. I miss him terribly, so I wanted to pay a little tribute to him on our blog.

Dad was many things to me. . .
a wonderful father,
an example,
a bishop,
a friend,
a comedian,
a teacher,
and
an honest and good man.

For those who may not know he battled cancer for over a year. It is so comforting to know that he is in a better place and no longer in pain and also he is with family that he hasn't seen in decades. I'm so grateful to have the knowledge of our Savior's Gospel and know that one day I will be with my Dad again!
We miss and love you DAD!!!!

Go Isotopes!!!

We had such a fun family night out on Saturday, April 19th. Ragan and I took all the kids and went to a Albuquerque Isotopes Baseball game. We put Lainie in the carrier (which is a new wonderful lifesaver for me) and the boys and headed out to the ball game. We had pretty good seats on the first base line and Ragan and I had fun explaining points of the game to Nash and Jacob. The boys ate hot dogs and coke. Then we went to the play area for kids and got tickets for them to go on the bouncy house and slides. We ate cotton candy and then watched the post game fireworks show. It was such a fun night out with all the kids. Lainie was an angel and slept the entire time (four hours). The boys were so good and had a lot of fun!!! By the way, the Isotopes beat Nashville. It was a great family night and we look forward to more of them with the kids. (Hopefully next time I remember the camera.)

Our Sweet Jacob

I've been posting so much about Lainie, that I decided to dedicate some posts to our boys!

Today is all about Jacob.

As many people have told me, you can take just one look at Jacob and see mischief in those bright blue eyes. Oh how true!!! He can be quite mischievous at times, but can also be super sweet when he wants to! Sometimes the sweet moments can be rare but they make me treasure them and him all the more.

Any mom out there with or who have had a 3, almost 4 year old boy can sympathize with how wild they can be. Jacob loves to torment Logan until he screams and just can't wait until Nash comes home from school and then proceeds to agitate him until Nash smacks him or something. It makes for such a lovely day at home. As my Dad told me so many times though, he is just being a BOY!!!!

Back to those sweet and treasured moments with Jacob. Jacob loves to get unbuckled anytime the van is stopped and come up front by me. He says that his excuse for getting unbuckled: "I just wanted to give you a hug (or kiss) mom." How mad can I really get at him for wanting to give me some sweet hugs or kisses, even though he needs to be buckled up. Today he said such a cute and innocent thing while we were waiting for Nash's bus and Jacob was unbuckled yet again. It's been quite windy here and Jacob said: "Look Mom, all of the trees are dancing." I just had to smile at the sweetness of the moment (maybe it was one of those "you had to be there" times). Sometimes as a mom, I forget to remember the small things our kids do that make us smile because I am so caught up with cleaning the house, or making sure they are being nice to eachother and always saying NO or DON'T do that. I realized today that I really need to start focusing on the positive things my boys do and to quit always saying no and let them be (as long as they aren't hurting eachother).

So, to Jacob, thanks for the sweet moment and I LOVE YOU!!!

Our Little Lainie Bug

Ragan's Aunt Jan made this adorable burp rag so now I sometimes call her Lainie Bug - I think it is a cute nickname. Thanks Jan!!!
Okay, so the purpose of this post is to share some cute pics of new outfits and to also show how much she has grown and share her milestones with you.

I love this little outfit - she looked so cute and girly in it.

Daddy and Lainie swapping kisses. Oh how cute!!!

Thanks for the adorable outfit Grandma Bryce!

Lainie loves to smile. She is such a happy baby!!!

Thanks for the cute outfit Grandma Brown!

I thought she just looked so pretty in this color and the headband matched perfectly - Thanks Kuliana!

Lainie is 7 weeks old and growing up so much! It kinda makes me sad that she is growing up so fast, so I am enjoying every second of the cuddling, feeding, and smiling with her. I still can't believe how different things are with a girl -already. It sure is FUN!!!

Blessing Day

Lainie was blessed on Sunday, March 30th by her dad with her Grandpa Bryce, Uncle Randy and some of our friends and bishopric in Albuquerque there too. It was such a special day for our family. (Bear with me, there are a lot of pictures, since I just couldn't decide on one or two).

Here is our little angel in her dress.

Another one of our sweet girl.

Here is a full shot of the blessing dress. This was after church and she was incredibly hungry, so this was the best shot I got of her. We are going to go get some pictures of her done professionally, so I'll get some better shots of her in the dress.

Our precious girl, one more time.

Thanks for all of you who got to come and be here with us for our special day with Lainie. For those friends and family who were unable to come, we missed you and hope you like the pics.
