I read a fun article in "Woman's Day," called
"Are you a Summer Mom or a Back-to-School Mom?"
Here is a quote from the article:
"As school supplies replace water toys in the seasonal promotion aisles, it becomes clear that there are two kinds of mothers: summer moms and those counting the days until summer vacation ends.
"Summer moms enjoy greasing their piglets with sunscreen and ferrying them to the pool, their kit bags stuffed with goggles and Goldfish crackers--right through Labor Day. Shapeless days please them.
"The rest of us? We're back-to-school mothers. We can't wait for life to resume its natural order: Everybody up, everybody out, every day. "
To read the rest of the article and find out which type of mom you are, go to "Are You a Summer Mom or a Back-to-School Mom?"
The author talks about how she is counting the days till school starts again - this is so me right now - only 11 1/2 more days to go THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I love my kiddos - all four of them - no matter what! Seriously though, I'm one of those people who loves order and to be organized. Since having children my OCD ways have relaxed A LOT, but secretly I would love to have my house in complete order with EVERYTHING organized to the max. So, I am a Back-to-School Mom 100%!!! I love having my calendar organized with my kids homework due dates, field trips, forms all filled out and returned early. Everything on a schedule works for me - drop off, pick up, homework time, bed time, and repeat. I must admit, I am only too happy to have two of my kids in school this year. I won't know what to do with myself only caring for two for 7 hours a day - I'm excited for the freedom of running errands and actually less stressful grocery shopping - two kids is going to be a breeze! I'm just giddy thinking about it-11 1/2 more days! I think I might actually have more time to get more organized now too.
Don't get me wrong, once school starts, well okay, maybe a week or so into school, I'll miss having Nash and Jacob around to joke with and have around all day. I know that they are probably more excited than I am to get back to school, friends, learning and more exciting adventures.
So let's hear it ladies, what kind of mom are you???
