BYU

We took a Saturday afternoon back in August and went down to Provo to BYU. Ragan served on BYU campus a couple of times during his mission, so it is fun to go look around and hear his mission stories. We stopped by the bookstore and got some BYU shirts, hats, fudge, candy and even a little purse for Lainie. I just love that bookstore! Then we walked around just part of the campus. It was so beautiful and nice there!

Ragan and the kids with their BYU hats on already.

Had to get a shot by this statue.

I have one of Ragan on his mission standing here, so here is another with all his kiddos now.

Me and the boys out front of the Karl G. Maeser building.

It was so pretty there and a beautiful day!

Fall Baseball - 2010

All three of our boys played in the city's Fall Baseball this year. With all the moving around we have done in the past, we haven't got all that involved with kids sports and such. Watching our boys learn baseball and then get good at it, was so much fun! I learned that I'm one of those moms who yells pretty loud when their kid is playing. It was a lot of fun for all of us!!! The schedule was pretty hectic with six games a week, four nights a week - Monday thru Thursday you could find us at the ballpark.

Nash played in the 7-8 year old league, which was machine pitch and he did great! He loved it and now wants to play Spring Baseball, which is pretty competitive up here, so we shall see.

Logan played t-ball this year since his birthday missed the deadline for the coach pitch league. He did so good and loved it!!!

Logan before his first game - so excited!

Jacob played in the coach pitch league and wasn't so sure if he wanted to play at all but is so glad that he did! He loved everything about the game, especially the treats after the game. :) He did great!!!

Jacob in the field.
His favorite thing was playing in the dirt,
which seemed like most of the boys
favorite passtime waiting for the ball to get hit to them.

It was a fun season for all of our boys! They made some great friends who go to the same school and some of them even have the same birthday! They had a lot of FUN!!!!

School Days 2010

All of the boys started school on a different day this year, so picture taking got a little hectic and some didn't actually get taken on the official first day, but close enough. At least they are in the same grade when I took the picture right?!

Logan started PRESCHOOL in August, several weeks before the other boys started. He was so excited. As we are walking in to his "Meet the Teacher" day, I asked him, Are you nervous? No. Are you scared? No. Are you excited? Yes. Okay then. First day of school, we walk in and he goes and puts his backpack up, walks into the class, looks around and takes a seat and starts a puzzle. I told him "Bye Logan! See ya' after school." No response, not even recognition that I was leaving. Finally, after the boys and I all saying "Bye Logan!" He waves and says bye and goes back to his puzzle. Got out to the truck and shed a few tears. One more of my boys who doesn't need me as much as he use to and I have to let go a little more as he grows up.

My cute Logan on his first day of preschool

So excited!!!

We went to Wal-Mart to get the kids their backpacks for school, so of course, Lainie thinks she needs one too. Did her Daddy tell her no? I don't think so. She got her pink princess backpack and walked around the store with it on. Anyway, we all took Logan to his preschool and Lainie insisted on wearing her backpack too. She goes into the backpack room with Logan and hangs up her backpack. I'm getting a little nervous, so I tell Nash grab the backpack while she's not looking. She goes into the classroom, watches Logan sit down to a puzzle, so she does the same thing. Okay, it's hard enough having Logan go to school, I'm really, really not ready to have my baby leave me yet. I tell Lainie, "Come on, it's time to go." She's says no and keeps doing the puzzle. I had to physically remove the puzzle pieces out of her hands and pick her up since class was getting ready to start, all the while she is crying and screaming that she wants to stay at school. I'm so embarassed by this point and trying to hold onto her and the teacher is using her as an example to the girls in the class who are crying because they want to go home and my 2 year old is crying to stay. Just get me out of here please.

Lainie with her backpack.

Just a cute pic of her so grown up.

Nash was the next one to start school - THIRD GRADE - I can't believe it!!! We went a few days early, checked out where the classes were for Nash and Jacob and even met the teachers for a few minutes. Went over where to drop off, line up, all the important stuff since I wasn't going to to walk them in on their first day. Especially since Nash is way too old for that now. Nash was so excited for school to start he could hardly stand it. He was so excited to see all his friends too!

My handsome 3rd grader!

Nash ready to go!!!

Jacob was super excited to start FIRST GRADE, he started a day after Nash did. Jacob gets a little shy when he starts something new and takes a day or two to adjust, but with our crazy drop off schedule for two different schools I couldn't go with him, so he toughed it out and did a great job. He loves his class and teacher and is making even more friends this year! He's doing awesome!!!!

Look at the mischief in that smile.

My cute 1st grader!

School is going great for all my boys so far and they are learning a lot!!! It is so strange, yet nice, for those few hours when I only have one at home - I get a lot done around the house and have even played dress up a couple of times with my girl! Fun times for all!

Dinosaur Museum

For one of the park days in August, we went to Thanksgiving Point's Dinosaur Museum for their $2 Tuesdays. We got there and finally found a place to park and the line was wrapped clear to the back of the building, so we waited. Luckily it wasn't too bad - only 30 minutes or so.

The Boys really liked this painting on the side of the building.
It shows the whole dinosaur but I just couldn't fit the entire pic.

Lainie hanging out while we wait - notice her huge wad of gum. Nice!

They had a lot of fun!

More pics with dinosaurs

This scared the you-know-what out of Lainie
Look at her scream.
I couldn't stop giggling -
I know I'm a horrible mom, but it was pretty funny!!!

All-in-all, it was a fun day with my kids!!!! We went and got $0.50 ice cream cones for the kids and found $2 fudge for mom, which was incredible!!!

Splish, Splash

The boys had a lot of fun in water this summer. Between our small inflatable pool, sprinklers, water play parks or playing in the nasty irrigation water while watering the garden, they were constantly getting cooled off.

Nash, Jacob, and Logan ALL WET

Seriously wet boys!

Nash's August Pack Meeting
Water kickball where the bases were pools
with a giant beachball to kick.
He had a blast!!!

Garden Bliss

Summer was crazy busy for us, but we loved it! We did basketball camp for Nash and Jacob, Nash did Scout camp, we went to Lagoon (I forgot the camera in the truck-sheesh), and along with all of the playing with friends we also got a chance to remember what it was like to take care of a real yard. Lots of lawn mowing and gardening along with sunburns, for me at least. We have loved having our garden and enjoyed all the incredible fresh vegetables that it has produced.

This is what the garden looked like in July before the
pumpkin plants overran everything
on the west side of the place.
Here are some of the first veggies we got early on in July.

One of our pumpkins.
We planted two pumpkin plants
and as of today we have at least 21 pumpkins
out there, plus the two that are already on our porch.

It has been so fun having a garden and I think we did alright for our first one too!!!
