Family Vacation - Day ONE (6/1/2009)

We took our Summer Family Vacation and went to California to spend a week of fun with our kids. Ragan found us an awesome place to stay, Grand Pacific Palisades, in one of their two bedrooms condo units. It was so nice!!! (Click on the link to check out any picks of the hotel).

We started our first day off at Legoland in Carlsbad, CA. We spent the whole day riding the rides, seeing the shows, and just having a great time with our family. Warning: there are a lot of pictures for this post. Just be glad - I narrowed it down by half - it was hard work deciding too. :)

Hope you enjoy the journey of our day at Legoland and seeing some of the cool Lego forms.

First stop: "Fairy Tale Brook"

A shop along the way - the boys had to pose with
Spongebob and Indiana Jones.

Cooling off in the "Water Works" area, even though it never got above 70 degrees. Nice!

Lainie thought the boys were so funny!

Train ride in "Playtown"

Nash pulling his way up the "Kid Power Tower"

Jacob and Logan at the "Volvo Jr. Driving School" - they even earned their driver's license.

Nash cruising along through the "Volvo Driving School"

(Cool Hot Dog vendor)

Flying High at the "Sky Patrol"

The boys thought this one was cool.

Ragan working his way with the boys through the "Fun Town Fire Academy"

Ragan & Logan on the "Flight Squadron"

Having fun at the "Skipper School"

We ate lunch and then watched "The Big Test" show about firemen training. The boys laughed and Nash and Jacob even got wet - they were in the front row.

Logan arrived late and needed to finish his lunch - yes, that is his cheeseburger on the sidewalk/cement seats as he set it down to get a drink and yes, he picked it back up and continued to eat it. I thought it was totally disgusting - Ragan's response, "That's AWESOME!" Boys!

Lainie enjoying the Show.

Here is Ragan and the boys at "Captain Cranky's Challenge"

"Splash Battle" was one of my favorites - even if I did scream like a little girl as I got soaked with really cold water.

Here we are at "Miniland USA" - it was awesome to see all the cities they built out of Legos

We ended our first day seeing "Darth Vader"

It was a fun and exhausting day - 7 hours straight at Legoland. Let's see how tomorrow goes and if any of us will be able to walk again.
