Yellowstone ~ Day Three

July 16th, 2011 ~ Today, we decided to drive over to Cody, WY, since we had heard so many great things about it. We drove through part of Yellowstone and stopped at a few places we haven't seen yet. So begins our journey to Cody...

Family at the entrance to Yellowstone.
(Ignore the light reflection)

Gibbon Falls was beautiful!

Lainie wasn't too happy to sit on the wall.

Nash, Jacob, and Logan at Gibbon Falls.

Gibbon Falls

The kids loved climbing all over these rocks on
the walk down to Gibbon Falls.
Isn't dad so nice to help Lainie up to join the boys?!

Moving down the road, we stopped
to see a view of the Lower Falls.
Pretty good hike so we just went the scenic route.

Logan with the Lower Falls in the background.

Next was the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

Mom, Ragan, and kids posing for me.

Jacob enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Mom enjoying the Falls!

I love this view of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone!

We saw two bald eagles on our drive.
Here is one in flight!

Finally made it to Cody and went to eat lunch at Bubba's BBQ.
After lunch we went to the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum.

Out front of the Buffalo Bill Museum

Kids were loving the statue.

First stop was the Firearms portion of the museum, of course.

Dad, Ragan, and Nash loved all the amazing guns and history.

I like the door "handles"!

Now those are what I call some BIG guns!!!
Jacob and Logan loved trying to find the longest one!

Lots of fun things to see!
Lainie didn't want to get too close to the bear.

Ragan and Logan
Sweet GUN!!!!

It took a lot of hands and teamwork to get this
puzzle of Buffalo Bill back together.

We learned a lot of history about firearms, Western art,
the Plains Indians, and Buffalo Bill.

Nash posing in front of one of the exhibits on our way out.

We went and watched the Cody Gunfighters show,
did some souvenir shopping, and headed back to Yellowstone.
Now we can say that we have been to Cody, WY.
(Been there, done that)

Beautiful view of Sunset at Yellowstone Lake.

Fun day with the family seeing some beautiful and historical sites!
